Cholesterol Wankery and Health 'Ex-Spurts'

"The nation’s top nutrition panel is dropping its guidelines about avoiding foods that are high in cholesterol.
The new finding by the Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee means that cholesterol is no longer listed as a “nutrient of concern.”
It’s a move that reverses nearly 40 years of government warnings about cholesterol-rich foods.
Researchers now believe that eating foods like eggs, butter, steaks, shrimp and lobster may not significantly impact the level of cholesterol in the blood or increase the risk of heart disease.
They reviewed the clinical trials that were used in the 1970s and 80s as the basis for warnings about cholesterol and found that the evidence just didn’t add up."

-----------------------------------------------------

I grew up under food nazis in my house who said that eggs and butter were bad and told me what I could and could not put inside my body.

Meanwhile the real killers like high fructose corn syrup and the garbage inside cereals that were eaten by the mother-lode were promoted by these same experts that put carbohydrates at the base of the food pyramid. Too bad plain carbohydrates tasted like cardboard and so it was inevitable that creamy sugars would be poured on top.

The thing that should be pissing everyone off is the amount of trouble one went through following the wrong advice from these clowns from the 70's and 80's that became the mantra until recently.

As a result we damaged our bodies as a result of taking industrial run-off like margarine made up of vegetable oil that was given unnatural chemical reactions that would be more at home inside a running car engine.

Meanwhile we have preservatives that are by the dozen fed into our food that react with each other and the body chemicals to produce nasty allergies down the road.

I was right, you were wrong.  You health "experts" can STFU from now on, and same goes for the nazis I had the misfortune of sharing the house with.
